A Winter Recipe Passed Through the Generations

Many traditions begin with a comforting recipe. One that ignites the senses and prompts a memory of days gone by.
I never met my maternal grandmother, nor did Lexie meet her maternal great-grandmother, but we have known her through my mother's stories, and her shared recipes. Recipes that are hand written and kept in an antique box, while talked about, enjoyed and treasured.
She has created memories, comfort and traditions that we continue to pass down.
We welcome you, our treasured friends, to share in a family tradition with us by inviting you into our kitchen as we share one of her timeless recipes, exactly as it was written many years ago.
Southern Pecan Pie:

1 C. White Sugar

1/2 C. Dark Corn Syryp

1/2 Stick of Unsalted Butter

3 Eggs, Well Beaten

1 C. Pecan Halves

Mix all ingredients together. First sugar, then syrup, then butter. Add eggs and pecans. Pour into an unbaked pie shell. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes.
